Poem: The Apes
The Apes
It’s a busy day
at the house of lords.
There is one hundred politicians
Making lots of noise.
They sit, stand, shout, shriek,
Clamoring to get their voices heard.
The veins on their foreheads bulge
Like an aneurysm is coming soon
All because no one is listening.
Someone takes the stage
And yells about this or that
And walks off disappointed
As someone else rushes to the front.
What a shame
That nobody bothered to tell them
That all they are is monkeys.
It’s a busy day
at the house of lords.
There is one hundred politicians
Making lots of noise.
They sit, stand, shout, shriek,
Clamoring to get their voices heard.
The veins on their foreheads bulge
Like an aneurysm is coming soon
All because no one is listening.
Someone takes the stage
And yells about this or that
And walks off disappointed
As someone else rushes to the front.
What a shame
That nobody bothered to tell them
That all they are is monkeys.
